This course is designed specifically for 5th Grade 
teachers who want to strengthen mathematical 
foundations through intentional, standards-aligned 
instruction. Participants will unpack the 5th Grade 
mathematics standards, explore the research behind 
early numeracy and fluency development, and 
engage in evidence-based instructional practices. 
Teachers will practice implementing formative 
assessment strategies and task-based assessments, 
including 3-Act Tasks, Three Reads, and Number 
Talks. Together, we will examine effective fluency-
building strategies that develop conceptual 
understanding—not just speed. Participants will leave 
with a practical instructional toolbox filled with ready-
to-use strategies, tasks, and assessment approaches 
that can be implemented immediately in the
