1 in 6 U.S. teens has a mental health condition, yet 
only half receive treatment. Youth Mental Health First 
Aid equips educators to recognize warning signs and 
respond with confidence (Mental Health First Aid USA). 
Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is a full-day training 
that helps participants identify adolescent mental 
health risk factors and warning signs, understand the 
importance of early intervention, and support youth 
experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. 
Through role-playing and simulations, participants 
learn how to assess a crisis, provide initial support, and 
connect young people with appropriate professional, 
peer, social, and self-help resources. 
PARTICIPANTS LEARN: 
- Assess for risk of suicide or harm  
-  Listen nonjudgmentally  
- Give reassurance and information  
- Encourage appropriate professional help  
- Encourage self-help and other support strategies
