The oral language session will build 
paraprofessionals’ understanding of how oral 
language forms the foundation for reading and 
writing success. Participants will explore the role 
of listening, speaking, sentence structure, and 
language development in early literacy, aligned 
to Georgia’s ELA standards and Structured 
Literacy principles. Through hands-on routines, 
modeling, and guided practice, participants will 
learn how to facilitate meaningful conversations, 
expand student language, and support 
comprehension during daily instruction. 
Practical, ready-to-use strategies will equip 
paraprofessionals to strengthen language 
development and support all learners

The Early Literacy - Print Awareness, 
Phonological Awareness, & Alphabet Knowledge 
session focuses on the essential building blocks 
of early reading development. Grounded in 
Structured Literacy and aligned to Georgia 
standards, participants will explore how print 
awareness, phonological awareness, and 
alphabet knowledge work together to prepare 
students for decoding and reading success. 
Through hands-on activities, multisensory 
routines, and guided application, 
paraprofessionals will learn how to support 
sound awareness, letter recognition, and early 
print concepts. Participants will leave with clear, 
practical strategies to strengthen foundational 
skills and support developing readers across
